Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised as part of an multiethnic family. Her father Elroy Fernandez comes of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She has two brothers and one older sister. The 80s were the time when her parents emigrated to Bahrain due to civil unrest in Sri Lanka. In the end, she was born and raised in the country. The scholarship she received allowed her to attend an undergraduate program at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia following the completion of her studies in Bahrain. In order to further her interest in different cultures, languages and languages she enrolled in the Berlitz schools of languages in which she could learn Spanish and also improve her French as well as Arabic. In 2006, she won Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006, and was also a contestant for Miss Universe 2006. In the wake of being crowned Miss Sri Lanka in 2006, Padukone began working on television. She hosted the show Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone (the daughter of the badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. She was a badminton player at the national championships when she was a teenager but gave up her sport career to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is from Mangalorean heritage and her native language is Konkani. Her ancestors hail from the village of Padukone within the Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state of India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an old badminton player who is of global repute. Her mother is a travel consultant.
